Default I just got hacked?

Hi,
I play guild wars for around 3 years now and i've never been hacked before in guild wars or any other game or forum ive been on.. there was no way anyone could have known my password. was this some bad-ass hacker?
i logged in yesterday and there wasn't a problem.
i just logged in 20 mins ago and noticed my main character was in kamadan even though i always log out @ guild hall. a few moments later i realised all my money was gone from the storage.. around 600k
the weird thing is.. nothing else happened. my armor still remains, so did my characters survived and even a black dye + a few ecto's in the chest remained.
is there any way for anet to see what IP was on my account? or won't they even bother with this problem?
if it's worth a shot. should i try mailing anet?
owell thanks in advance

I really think Anet needs to start logging in other ip's in order to keep tabs like this, see this way we can keep whoever performed this action barred permanently.

Change your pw and send a support ticket.

Yes, ANet should spend money to not only log the IPs of all their players, but also "keep tabs" on where people log in to their accounts, all because some people are flabbergasted to find out that the friends they gave their password to are actually pretty dickish.

i wonder if theres a method of hacking accounts that doesnt require username/password.
like a tool of some kind that can intercept packets of other users

most people get "hacked" by people they know. They let guild mates or friends know their e-mail address or even let them log into their account, then the person they gave out info goes in and steals stuff a few weeks/months later.

Not unless this is a sudden rash of hacking.

Your password might be weak. My old password was my dog's name and i got hacked but thankfully they only took my money just like you. I've changed my password to something a bit less predictable.

Apparently you never send (or receive emails)? Or did you go out and specifically make a brand new email, that you don't use...ever, just so you could create a GW account?

Of course people use their damn email accounts for sending mail, and yeah they probably send mail to their friends/guildies too. Close nit guilds do that. Is sort of the natural way to communicate these days.

you are using same password everywhere, GW forums, GW auction websites.. are bad places to have passwords similar to your guildwars account one.

Should really have a few e-mail addresses... It's not too hard to sign up a Gmail account if you wanna talk to guildies without compromising your log in e-mail.

It's worth trying, but your security is your responsibility.

Read this on security, run this to download anti-malware software, go here to ask for support on your issue.
